You’ve got mail…

Today Avery received a letter in the mail from one of her best friends/god sister Mya. She was so excited about it and I knew she would be, so I decided to grab the cam! This was actually Avery’s second time receiving a letter from Mya but the first one I made the mistake and opened it myself…I know, I know, mean Mommy. But this time I made sure to keep my paws off and let her do it on her own.

I followed Kevin to the living room to make sure I could get a shot right when she seen it. We’ve been teaching her how to read with “My baby can read” and what do you know…she’s picked it up! She actually read Mya’s name, her name, and our address. She read it to me like a big girl. After reading everything on the front of the envelope, she started to open and I started to shoot away.

She was so excited and said “Mommy look, Mya drew a picture of both of us. This is me, and this is her. OMG, Mommy she made me a rainbow with such pretty colors!” It was so nice to see her reaction to her letter I almost wanted to cry. It’s little things like that when all I can think about is how fast she’s growing up and in no time she’s going to be a teenager. Time flies and sometimes you don’t even know where the time has gone.

Pool with the Arteaga’s

Today after a great brunch with friends it was so piping hot they asked if we wanted to go for a swim. Um, well, let me think about that….Yes, I would like to go!

We arrived about two hours later since I had to go buy Arianna a new floating device and Avery needed one too. Once Avery saw Vanessa, and Vanessa saw Avery it was over. Yelling and screaming each others name as if they didn’t’ just see each other two hours ago. They are so cute when they see each other I love it. I think it’s great to have friends/family like that.

Any who we arrived and the water was so cold I couldn’t even get it. I’m ushually good with that and can take it and make my way in. But this was just too cold. I think it was even colder than beach water. Vanessa was a trooper till the end. I don’t’ even think she wanted to go home. She was in and out of that water and no one else was in it so she was just on her own. Avery went as far as to put her legs in and maybe even sit on a step but that was as far as she was going. Once Arianna put her feet in she was over it to. She did love walking around the pool with daddy right behind her afraid she might be the little dare devil she really is and just jump in. But she didn’t try it and we all had a great time just hanging out anyways.

Maddies 12th Birthday

Today was my first god daughters 12th birthday. The celebration started at a skating rink in Orange. It’s an old location my cousins and I used to go to when we where younger. Going back brought back such great memories for my cousins and I. Seeing our kids play and have fun was even more fun than the old memories. We are all mothers now and have beautiful and wonderful kids.

I was able to take some great pictures of everyone and really enjoyed taking the pictures to. This was Avery’s first time skating and after going around two times with her she didn’t want mommy to be behind  her anymore. She told me “mommy I told you I can do this by myself. Please let me do this alone. I’ll call you if I need you” So my feelings where hurt and I was sad she’s only 3 1/2  years old and already telling me she doesn’t need me anymore.

Snack time, Play time!

What could tast more yummy then berries, bananas, and graps? All of that and some whipped cream and two beautiful smiling little girls!

I ushually try to put together a fruit medley for the girls every other day. I know fruit is good but I also mixed it with Veggies. I want to make sure they get all they need for the day. I never put wipped cream but decided it wouldtn’t be such a bad idea. My girls loved it, and had a field day with it!  After finishing it up Arianna and daddy started to play “Chase me“  In the kitchen.  Avery played for a momment but Arianna didnt’ want to stop.

I love those days I watch my girls  play with their daddy. He’s so good with them! I can sit for hours watching them play together.

Sibling bath time fun time…

Today was “fun time bath time” every two or three days we take the girls a bath together. It’s so cute to see Avery already in the bath waiting for her little sister. Once you ask Monkey “want to take a bath with sissy” she tells us “yes please” off to the tub with sissy it is. They have so much fun togher and even play tea party sometimes. I think having a sister is the best gift parents can give their child.

What more could you ask for when it comes to having a big/little sister? Nothing really. Once you have a sibling nothing in the world could be better than a life long best friend! Our girls are only two years apart and that was done for a reason. We wanted them to experiance Elementery, Jr High, and High school together. Both Kevin and I have siblings but we are so far apart in age we didn’t start getting close till after our late teens or twenties. That’s why we wanted to make sure our kids would be close in age.

Arianna is almost at the age were  it’s easier for the girls to play togher…yes we do have those momments that one is yelling because the other one has taken a toy, pushed, or even hit the other one but it’s gotten better and we understand it’s going to take some time.

First time at the gym

I’ve been thinking to myself, why not bring the girls with me to the gym so daddy can get a two hour break and they can get a chance to meet new kids and have fun out of the house? I’ve been going for two weeks now and figured  it’s only an extra $20 a month for both of them to be in the day care or $5 a child each time. It was a no brain er!

It was both girls first time and I thought with all the kids that are in the class they wouldn’t miss me at all. In fact I thought they wouldn’t’ want to leave or care if I was around or not. Boy was I wrong! After signing them in I began my 10 min worm up before my circuit training. I went upstairs but right before I peeked in and seen both girls were running around and having fun. So I headed upstairs to do my weights.

First off Arianna is that special little kid that needs her parents near her at all times. She’s OK to play with others as long as she can look back and see her standing near. She’s that child that doesn’t trust just anyone and if it’s been months since she’s seen you it will take a while for her to worm up.

With that said I came down after about 45 min of lifting weights and was ready for my 60 cardio. Like any mother would I peeked in one last time to see if my girls were still doing as good as before. Avery was running around with the other kids and Arianna was being held. I figured…”well they seam to be ok” so I turned away and made the mistake of looking back on last time. Well, Arianna seen me and started to cry. I couldn’t jsut leave her like that so I came in to calm her down. Once I felt she was ok I left the room and headed to the cardio machines. After about 20 min they called me over the loud speaker and I had to come get my little Monkey.

Oh well…at least I got a good portion of my work out done!

Hikeing as a family!

This is the second time daddy has acompanied us to our now favorite park in Tustin. Not only does this park have everything you could ask for the water is even filtered…yes I know Kevin said “only in Tustin”. I love my Tustin area I gew up here and can’t wait for my girls to do the same!

Our great friends/family Michelle, Anessa (how Avery says it), and baby Tony came to take the hike and enjoy some park time fun time. We had snacks, laughed, and talked about how we’ve lost weight and happy about the girls getting out of the house and doing some physical activities.

Hello world!

Today I decided to start tracking events and special things in my girls lives. I’ve seen friends of mine do it and come to realize that if I don’t write things down I’ll soon forget and my little girls one day might have questions about little things in their lives or even small special things they did growing up.

In this blog you’ll see what goes on in our lives as a family and what little special, weird, corney, or funny things my girls get into. You’ll read about how they look up to their big sister and how she’s such a great rolle model in thier lives. My girls are truly blessed to have such a wonderful sister in their lives. You’ll also read about fun play dates they have with firends they have been growing up with since birth…new friends and old friends!

I’m sad to say when I ask my parents they really can’t remember and I have all of 7 pixures of myself growing up until I was in Kinder. So I want my girls to have great pictures and a few paragraphs to read of what would go on in their lives!

I hope you enjoy reading about “The Chaney Girl’s” and add comments as they will be able to look back and see what others thought.

Hiking+Pictures=Fun

We decided since the hike was so great the day before why not take some great picturesw of the girls so this can be one of mommys new places to take clients for pictures. It was really cold but both girls had so much energy going up the hill they didnt’ mind the wind at all. We got a few great shots and boy oh boy they were team playsers for sure. I think they are just used to us taking so many pictures it’s almost become part of their day. After we changed the girls and took them to play for a while in the park before we went home.

Hiking with mommy

Today Michelle invited us to go on a stroller friendly hike. Being that it’s been a while since mommy has worked out I knew I needed to go. Avery also loves hanging out with her brother Tony and Anessa (how she says it). We got to Citric Ranch Park and had a great time. The hike was just right for us since it’s been too long and the girls did even better than we did. Arianna even tried to do it on her own for a while but once it got to steep she wanted the stroller. We had a great time and the toddler area was just right for Arianna’s size.
