Day 2

Today wasn’t as easy as the first day.  Avery was really excited about her first day of school because the day before her first day we didn’t’ do much but talk about how to act, what to do in case something happens, no talking to strangers, and things like that. So her second day she had to wake up from having a very busy day before and wasn’t really easy to wake up and get dressed.

From start to finish she wasn’t happy about waking up at 6am. She cried during her whole brushing of her teeth, she tried to fall back asleep during the ME dressing her as if she was a baby, and Oh my gosh was she upset about the hair. All I could think of was “is this how it’s going to be every morning?” So after all of that she calmed down and was rushing me to get out of the door. Once we arrived at school she had a smile from ear to ear and couldn’t wait to talk to her friends and see Ms. Natalie. It was really sweet and I knew I was going to get a three hour break so I was happy she was happy.

Before class she wanted to play with all the older kids on the play ground till the bell rang. So I walked her to the play area and watched how she was lost. The kids are so fast, loud, and aggressive she didn’t’ know how to react or even approach them. So she started to play by herself and loved the bars. Here are a few pictures of her playing in the play ground.

First Day of Pre-K

Today is the day my little girl becomes a big girl.  I was so excited and sad at the same time.  I had all these mixed emotions going through my mind.  I was happy on one end,  Avery is so smart and we want her to be able to use her what she knows and learn at the same time. Making new friends is always nice and seeing her become independent[ makes you feel like you’ve been doing a pretty good job as a parent!  On the other hand I’m going to miss her so much during the day. Avery has been looking forward to this day for a while now.  She’s been wanting to go to school. Hearing her friends Olivia, Mya, and Vanessa talk about school and other adults telling her how smart she is and why she’s not in school yet.  So I know this is a step in her getting bigger I’m just sad and happy to see my first born growing up.

We decided to wake up the whole house since this was a special day for all of us. We started off with waking Avery up, giving her a Flintstones vitamin, Arianna was second, she received her vitamin to. She usually ask for the same character that her sister ask for so today it was a purple pebbles. Mommy laid out their tooth brushes so they would start right after the vitamin. Once that was taken care of we started getting everyone dresses, hair did, shoes on, and out the door.  Once we arrived at the school Avery was so excited she couldn’t sit still. I’m thinking that’s how kids react once they are really ready to leave the nest. I think the older they are the easier it is to start becoming independent. Once the doors opened and daddy and I signed Avery in she was asked to pick a cubi to put her things and was already making new friends. She was so excited she didn’t’ really want to eat and was ready to start and play.  She was so excited she didn’t care if we stayed or went. I was a little saddened by it but Kevin told me “she’s a big girl now and you need to let her do her thing” I know I need to let her do her own thing, it was just hard on the first day.

Once the time came to go get Avery both Arianna and I couldn’t wait to see our Avery. Daddy was finishing up some homework but was right behind us when the time came to get his little/big girl. Once we arrived we seen her coming from the play ground and she was first in line, holding the rings, and walking to class. She was such a good girl. We signed her out and they sang her the “good buy song” I noticed she’s already made a few friends. We had four girls saying “good buy Avery, we’ll see you tomorrow” running out with their parents and telling her “good bye Avery” again. It was so cute. Avery of course loved the attention and was excited to tell us about her day.

One day before my first day of school

Once Avery’s God-Mother found out Avery was going to start school for sure April 28th she couldn’t wait to spend an evening with her before her special day. So she called me and asked if I would be willing to let Avery spend a few hours with her. I was all for it, and couldn’t wait to drop Avery off. Of course things came up and Daddy ended up taking Avery to titi Navy’s job to drop her off.

First off I would like to say both Navy and Al are great God-Parents. Not only is Navy a very close friend of mine. Kevin and Al are best friends. I knew right away who I wanted to be Avery’s got parents and once I told Kevin he had told me “that’s a no brainer! I feel bad because if I could have it my way, Al and Navy would be the God-Parents of all of our kids” So once we told Al and Navy our thoughts they of course agreed. Since then I can say they have done everything and more when it comes to being a great God-Parent!

With that said I wasn’t aware than Navy was planning a beautiful mini shoot with Avery. I came across these pictures days after and didn’t’ know they had been taken. I couldn’t’ stop looking at them and even left two long comments on “little Miss Mya’s” post. I was so touched and excited to see these pictures. Navy truly has a way of capturing moments I still can’t seem to capture of my own kids. It’s seams that my kids take better pictures with other than with their mommy. These pictures turned out great Navy and thank you so so much!

Panini Night

Tonight Avery wanted to help mommy cook Panini’s. This little one can’t get enough of being in the kitchen with mommy. Balieve me when I say I’m really excited that she’s very much interested in cooking, cleaning, and being like her mommy. It means a lot when you see yoru kids look up to you and want to do what you do. Avery loves, and I mean loves cooking with me. When she’s in the kitchen with me I try to make easy meals that don’t require too much work, or working with anything dangerous. This night I seen “cooking with Giada” and seen her make some great Panini’s so I decided to make some of my own. Avery helped put the olive oil on the bread, put the mayo, other condiments, and just about pre-prepair everything. It was fun to see how well she did and how she tried extra hard to not mess up. She pays close attention to detail and you’ll see that in these pictures, she also likes to lick her fingers while helping!!!!!

Grandma w/all her Grandkids!

Today my sister came from Puerto Rico to visit for a few weeks. We got to see Genesis for the first time. She’s as beautiful as she appears in her pictures and as sweet as can be. She’s a hand full when she’s hungry but other than that she’s wonderful and full of smiles.

My mom was able to have all her grand kids in one room for the first time and she was in poor bliss. My grandma was also excited to see her new great grand daughter for the first time too. It’s been months we’ve been able to hear her cry, laugh, and talk on the other end of the phone but not been able to put a face with a voice. I mean yes, we do have pictures but in person is much better!

During this time I was able to snap a few pictures of Avery with her BFF cousin D. They have such a love/ hate relationship it’s actually funny to see them play and fight. But at the end of the day they love each other more than anything in this world and I know that bond will be with them forever.

Away for 10 min…

I’m usually good with putting thins the girls can get into away so I don’t have a big mess to deal with later. Well….I didn’t do it this time since it was only a few days after Easter. Boy oh boy was that a big mistake. I’m not sure who got into it first. From what Avery said “mommy, I was just looking at the pretty purple, and Arianna took it from me” I doubt that was the case because when ever Arianna takes something from Avery she is quick to tell on her little sister. So I’m sure they both got into it and just had a blast…and I mean BLAST!

I was cooking in the kitchen and only turned my back away for at least 10 to 15 min. I come back to the living room to see if they want to help me set the plates up. Well oh well, WHAT DO I SEE….

BTW, they cleaned it all up.

Hanging out with mommy

Today daddy went to hang out with uncle Phil to go watch a movie, they grew up watching. I thought it was really cute since they are like brothers. After the movie daddy called and told us he had promised Deja he was going to her game so daddy ended up spending the day with the Davis family. It worked out perfect. I was feeling a little better and decided to take the girls out for a while. I took a few snap shots of them but for some reason Arianna doesn’t like the camera too much.  She’s never ready to take a picture and doesn’t like taking them that much.

I was able to get just a few and they were ready for lunch at that time. So we called it a day, ate some lunch, and all tried to take a nap. Avery and Arianna took a nice two hour nap and mommy just layed down in pain hoping she would fall asleep.

All and all we had a great day together and got to relax a little.

Aquarium Visit

This day was very special. Marie Sam, Cheyenne, and I planned one day out of Cheyenne’s spring break spend with Avery. I’ve been looking forward to this day for some time now. Avery loves her big sister Cheyenne! She doesn’t see her as much as she would like but now that her sister is a teenager she has no time to just really hang out. She’s so busy with all her hard classes, school, friends, and other activities she does outside of school it’s hard to grab a day. But Marie Sam and Cheyenne made time for Avery and it was great!

Avery couldn’t stop talking about the fun she had. She told me she got to touch a star fish, she even said “mommy I was just hanging out with my sister and her mommy all day today. It was fun…so when am I doing this again with them?’ It was nice to know she had so much fun she can’t wait for the next time. I did feel bad that Arianna is still too little. I’m sure they would have taken Arianna but if I know my Avery she tired them out. If Arianna would have joined them they would have really been tired.

Thanks Cheyenne and MarieSam for spending a special day with my little Bear!

Shhhhhhh…

Putting Avery to sleep isn’t as easy as we would like it to be. Since I could remember she’s tried just about anything she could try to not have to go to sleep, even if she’s really tired. Last night was one of those nights and of course once daddy brushed his teeth with the girls, read them a book, did earth quake (a game he plays with them before bed), and kissed the girls good night. Daddy went of to his game room and started to do homework. Mommy was downstairs editing pictures from a party she had done that weekend.

As I’m editing pictures I see a little shadow coming closer to me from my right eye, I turn to look at who it is…and of course it was AVERY. I said “you know your not supposed to be down stairs after daddy puts you to sleep, your going to get in trouble” she looks at me and say’s “mommy SHHHHHHHHHHH” I couldn’t stop laughing at how she told me to be quite. I asked again “Avery, you know your not supposed to be out of bed this late either” she tells me “MOM, if you don’t say anything and just be quite Daddy wont know I’m down here, or awake” I started to laugh so hard she took her little pointer finger, put it to her mouth and kept saying “Shhhhhhhhhh” I had to get this on camera. Being that it was so close to me I started snapping away and this is what I got…

two words…

Today my dad/grandpa came over to do his weekly visit. He usually comes by once or twice a week just to see how the girls are doing and to check up on how I’m doing. I look forward to his little visits and it’s started to seam like Avery starts to ask for him after two days go by and she’s not seen him yet. It’s really cute. I was and still am very close to my dad/grandpa so it’s really nice to have him come so my girls can get close to him.

I think it’s amazing how much a difference having a father in your life makes. I know I would be a different person if he wasn’t in my life and I thank my mom for giving that life. My girls not only have a dad in their life they have a grandpa that comes to visit them twice sometimes even three times a week. Not only does he come by that often but when he comes by he does what grandparents do best…spoil them! He usually gives them money for their piggy banks and teaches them Spanish. He’ll play color and counting games in Spanish so when ever he comes by again they run to him and try to show him they have been practicing.

Today Arianna was extra excited to see abuelo today. It could be because he only stopped by once last week but what ever it was she ran to him so fast when she heard his voice say “hallo” (with a Spanish accent) after playing with the girls for a min he had to go and get a few thing done. But right before he left Arianna said “by guampa” this was extra special because she not put two words together like that before. It was so nice to hear it and to see her big smile after she did it!

Good job Monkey!
