Physical for school

Once Avery was enrolled in school we were asked to provide a full physical exam of Avery. We were handed a packet to give to her doctor. We made an appointment for both girls since Arianna needed her 18 month exam. Might as well kill two birds with one stone!

Little did the girls know that they were both going to get shots. The physical exam required a recent blood test, and we wanted Arianna to get checked for allergies to anything. During the doctor visit Avery got a shot in her arm and a skin test. I forget the name of it but she was really not to happy about that one. Once we were done and Arianna got her three shots it was time to go to another location were they did the blood work. This was Avery’s second time getting blood drown. The first time she was only 18 months and she did great! When I say great I mean, she didn’t even cry or move her arm. She just gave the guy who was drawing the blood a very dirty look and said ouch. It was actually sad and cute at the same time. That was the first time I knew they drew blood they same way the do an adult. The only difference is the size of needle and the rubber band they use is smaller.

That wasn’t the case the second time around for Avery, and the first time around for Arianna. I did feel bad that they had already received shots but I didn’t want to have them be in pain in a few days again. I wanted to get it all out of way. Daddy did great with both girls as I sat back and took some pictures. Daddy rocks and is for sure a team player. Mommy can’t do that kind of stuff. I start to cry and feel so bad.

Ice cream man…ice cream man…

Looking back at my childhood I can’t imagine a child not knowing what it’s like to have that feeling of excitement when you hear the song coming from the ice cream man truck. Every time I hear an ice cream truck it brings back great memories of my cousins and I running, yelling out “STOP” and asking our parents for $.50…oh how things have changed!

My girls don’t eat treats to often but I do allow them to every once in a while. This day we decided to visit my mom and titi Martha. After laughing and hanging out for a while Avery heard the ice cream man. She yelled “mommy mommy, can I please have an ice cream…please!” I couldn’t say no. I actually could but she’s been really good in school and being such a great sister I allowed both girls to get a treat.

It was so cute watching Arianna point out what she wanted, She couldn’t help but stare at the ice cream man. Avery wanted to hand the dollar to the ice cream man herself so I let her. Arianna looked so cute picking her ice cream out.

Enjoy!

Helmet head

Visiting titi Moni’s house and Arianna being the goofball she is she put Anaih’s helmet on her head backwards. It was so cute and funny I had to snap a few shots. I love my little Monkey…she has this special way of making everyone smile and laugh out loud.

Of course mommy had to fix it and snap a few shots with it the right way, but I just couldn’t help how cute she looked with it the wrong way!

Weekend Homework

After week one of going to school Avery comes home with homework. I was a little shocked and happy at the same time. Homework is good! So I looked at her little red folder and inside she had two sheets of homework to complete and return on Monday. Of course our weekend was super busy and by the time Sunday night came we had forgotten all about Avery’s homework. So of course as usual, we give both girls a bath and get them ready for bed…I remember “oh man…Kevin, we forgot Avery’s homework” we both looked at each other and called her out of bed (bad parents I know).

We got out her little desk, and daddy started on the homework with Avery. I don’t give her as much credit as I should. Her godparents are always telling me how smart she is! I know she’s smart but I really do see it now that she has homework!  After the first time of homework, she get’s it and even told us that she did not need our help!  So we backed off a little and she did great!

Go Avery!!!

Titi Moni’s house

Visit’s to titi Moni’s house are always nice, exciting, and filled with fun. Titi Moni not only loves the heck out of my girls she always goes above and beyond to please them…even if it’s not what mommy and daddy want!!!!! I can’t lie…she’s great. I actually am very lucky because all of my cousins love my kids. The love they show for my kids is amazing and I love the love my family and I have for each others kids. I know deep down even if we feel one kids a bigger butt than the other we would still do anything for each others kids and that is what family is all about.

Here are a few shots I took of Arianna outside posing for me. I couldn’t have a complete finish with out Avery saying “mommy…look I’ll pose for you” so of course I have a few of my little bear too.

This event was also a BBQ for my little sister who was leaving back to PR. We will all miss her and hope to see her again soon!
