Happy 4th

This year was a little crazy. We had been invited to four different events and they all sounded so good! I was stuck for a while trying to figure out what to do.  At first, Kevin and I decided to do an old tradition I used to do growing up in Tustin. It became tradition for the whole family when I was young to go to Tustin High and watch the fire works, see the live band, eat some great food, see old friends and new friends, and watch everyone have a great time! But after getting invited to event after event we decided to do two out of four things we had been invited to. We couldn’t miss 4th of July with out seeing the Aska’s. So we stopped at titi Sheila’s house and got to hang out for a bit. After that it was time to go and see my cousins. I couldn’t wait to hang out with my fam bam! My girls have so much fun when they are with there cousin, not to mention it’s a plus because I have just as much fun with my cousins! So, it ends up being a win win for the whole family. We got to see some of our favorite people and really enjoyed ourselves. But wait…it get’s better, I got to take a to-go-plate from Sheila’s and I can never get enough of her deviled eggs, nor her mac&cheese. So I was in heaven before I even got to my cousins house!  Kevin has started to enjoy the company of my cousins more and more every year that passes. It does take some time for them to grow on you!!!

The girls had a great time, and of course I had to take a few snap shots of all of us having fun!

GOOD TIMES!

Destiny’s Luau

Having all these great ways to keep in touch with old and new friends is just another special way to know more about your old and new fiends. What I love about it the most is being able to keep in touch, know the new things, and help a friend out if you feel they need it…all with a quick easy click of a button on the computer.

Today I was asked to take some pictures of a good friends event. Her daughter was turning nice and boy was her mom Denay going to make sure she did it with class, style, and you can’t leave out fun! This party had everything you would hope for in a party and more. Since Denay is an old high school friend she of course wanted to meet my girls. I’ve been dying to meet her girls since our girls are more a like than we thought. The only difference between them is age.

Avery and Arianna had so much fun hanging out with Destiny and Desiray’s friends I was able to get a few great shots and really enjoyed being there. The fun part about my side photography job is being able to work with great people and enjoying the company.

Fathers Day 2010

This Father’s Day we decided to keep it simple. I told Kevin what ever he wanted to do for the day was his choice. So after cooking him breakfast, having the girls run into his computer room telling him “Happy Father’s Day, Daddy” I started to clean the house and make sure the girls didn’t mess with daddy today. Not only was it really really hot, we got a call from out good friends “Arteaga Family” and was asked if we wanted to go swimming. Kevin was so hot, and bored at home we decided to go and enjoy ourselfs. We met up with the Arteaga family, and the Giron’s. We laughed, played, relaxed, and really had a great time.

Daddy only wanted to be with his family this day, so that’s what he got! After that we went home and I cooked him a pretty great dinner.

Parent Appreciation Day

Today was a special day to show appreciation for all the support of the students in class. The theme of the party was “ice cream shop” Avery was so excited to show me all the different flavors, toppings, and treats they had out for us. Of course the kids got to join in the the yummy fun! After getting Avery, Arianna, and myself some great yummy ice cream we sat at a small table and all ate together.

Arianna couldn’t stop eating, licking, and getting ice cream all over the place. It was fun to watch her it ice cream. She also made a new friend. This was a sister of one of the little boys in Avery’s class and they are about a month apart. It was really cute watching them eat from each others cone!

Tustin Chili cook off

Growing up in Tustin I can remember all the little fun activities Tustin has to offer families; I remember going to Tustin High before I was old enough to go to the school and watching the beautiful fire works, going to Tustin Tiller Days before I was old enough to be a part of it, small cook offs, block garage sales, great reading time at the Tustin Library, Police Day’s, and so on and so on. The list for Tustin just keeps going on and on and on.  We’ve seen the Tustin Chili Cook Off signs for about two weeks now and wanted to go but wasn’t quite sure about taking the kids. We decided to go and take the kids with us…bad idea! it was around Arianna’s nap time, and the heat just about made it Avery’s nap time. They did good for the first hour but after that both girls were ready to go home.

We still had a pretty good time and just seeing stands for Tustin High school just brought back great memories from when I used to do the stand as a cheerleader, and seeing old friends was just as nice. It’s nice to see friends married, with kids, and all grown up!

Avery’s Second Recital

Today was an extra special day for Kevin and Avery. It was their first daddy daughter dance. Yes, Avery and Kevin shared the stage with friends and other daddy’s. This was something I’ve been looking forward to see since we signed them up for it. I knew once I seen the daddy daughter dance last year their was no way I was missing out on seeing my first born with her daddy!

I can’t wait till Arianna is old enough to do it and Daddy get’s to be on stage twice with his little girls! At this point I was not allowed to know what was going on or what the dance looked like. So I did my best to now ask questions and just hope Kevin would remember to show Avery her parts along with his parts. All and all they did great and I couldnt’ have cried more over something so beautiful. It’s just something about a daddy and his little dancing on stage that makes me cry as I type this to. It was that amazing. I think the kicker is; he’s a great dad and Avery is so close to him it makes it more special to see them share that momment. For just a few min it seamed as if the stage was only my little bug and her daddy.

When it came to her group recital dance with just her class she did great! Both Avery and Vanessa rocked the stage and shined as the beautiful bright STARS they really are! It’s amazing to see how much they have grown since they started that class together two years ago!

Stars House

After Avery’s recital we decided to visit titi Stars house. We where so tired and hot we just wanted to go hang out and relaxe. Kevin and John baught some drinks, and cousin Dayna, came over to. I baught a little water toy the kids played with outside and baught the girls a new swim suite.

By the end of the night Kevin and John started singing old school song, Dayna chimed in a few times with her old school song and Star and I just sat back and enjoyed hanging out together.

Recital Pictures

Today was Avery’s recital pictures. My little bug couldn’t have looked more beautiful in her little white dress her sleepy grandma bought her. I’m not the biggest fan of her recital outfit this year but her and Vanessa can still rock it pretty well. Maybe it’s just because of who they are. They do make the outfit and don’t allow it to make them!!!!! I have to say my man looked pretty damn good in his suite to…YUMMY!

Here are a few shots I took before they had to take their pictures…enjoy!

Test run

So, it’s time for recital pictures and both Avery and Vanessa do not have curly hair. This year they are asking for it to be half up, half down, with curls. Well Avery has hair that has some curl to it but not as much as I would like for the pictures.

So Michelle and I decided to do a trial run at sponge curls and see what the girls hair would  look like after. We figured out that the girl’s need way more than three hours for it to set. We also realized a blow dryer would work a lot better to. So this test run didn’t work out as great but we learned from what we did wrong this time and wont be making the same mistakes again.

I can say the girls were both team players. They sat still and tried not to do anything for the whole three hours. If you know anything about a four year old or better yet a four year old with her friend asking them not to play for three hours was torture. But they did it!

Good job Avery and Vanessa!
